If you have never had extensions fitted, the process can feel like a black box: a price, an appointment, and then hours in a chair. It is simpler than it looks, and it starts with a conversation rather than a fitting.
This is how it works at Flawless in Wolverhampton, from the first message to walking out with the finished length.

Why the consultation comes first
Extensions are built around the hair they are attached to. Until someone has looked at your hair in person, nobody can say honestly which method will hold, how much hair you need or how long the fitting will take.
At the consultation Jaz looks at how fine or thick your hair is at the root, what it has been through, how you wear it day to day and what you want it to do. You leave with a plan: the method, the amount of hair and what the fitting involves.
It is also your chance to ask anything, from how a method feels to wear to what the upkeep looks like. If you are still choosing, nano ring, micro ring or tape-in sets out how the three differ.

Matching colour and length before anything is ordered
Flawless uses natural Remy hair. The colour is matched to your own hair, including any lighter or darker tones through the lengths, so the extensions blend rather than sitting as a band.
Length is agreed at the same time. Very long extensions on fine hair carry a lot of weight, so the length you want is weighed against what your hair can hold comfortably.
Only once colour, length and method are agreed is the hair ordered. That is why there is a gap between the consultation and the fitting, rather than everything happening on one day.

What the prices cover
The consultation is £20 and covers the assessment of your hair and the plan for the style you want.
The extension service is £80 and covers installation for the first one and a half hours. If you already have extensions in, taking them out is included in that if it is needed.
Any work past the first 90 minutes is £15 per 30 minutes. A small top-up of tape-in wefts takes less time than a full head of nano rings, so the method and the amount of hair both count. Jaz will tell you at the consultation what your own fitting involves, so you know the shape of the bill before anything starts.

On the day of your fitting
Come with clean, dry hair and no heavy product in it, unless Jaz has said otherwise. Clean hair lets rings grip and tapes stick as they should.
Your hair is sectioned and clipped up, and the extensions go in row by row from the nape upwards. With nano ring extensions and micro rings that is strand by strand; with tape-in it is panel by panel. Expect to sit for a while: a full head of rings is a few hours of careful work.
Once everything is in, the extensions are cut and blended into your own hair so the ends sit naturally, then styled.

After you leave the chair
The first few days can feel different, especially at the nape and the parting, while you get used to the extra hair. That settles as you learn how to wear it.
Before you leave, ask Jaz anything you are unsure of about washing, brushing and sleeping with your new extensions. How to look after hair extensions covers the same ground for when you are back home.
As your hair grows, the joins move down and need moving back up. When that is due depends on your hair and the method, and Jaz will say at the fitting.
Questions readers ask
Can you take out extensions I already have?
Yes. Removing existing extensions is included in the extension service if it is needed before the new ones go in.
Do I have to have a consultation before a fitting?
Yes. The method, the amount of hair and the colour match are all decided at the consultation, and the hair is ordered after it.
How long will my first fitting take?
It depends on the method and how much hair is going in. Jaz will tell you at the consultation, and the extension service price covers the first one and a half hours.
Your next step
If you are ready to start, send Jaz a few lines through the form on this page: your hair type, the length you are after and whether you have worn extensions before. She will call you back to arrange your consultation in Wolverhampton. Nothing is booked until she has spoken to you.
